Characterization of the role of MATR3 in HIV latency and reactivation

Pursuant to § 3 section 11 and § 7 sections 1 and 3 of Resolution No. 5/I/2020 of the Senate of the Jagiellonian University of 29 January 2020 on: the rules of recruitment for the Doctoral School of Exact and Natural Sciences at the Jagiellonian University in the academic year 2020/2021, the Director of the Doctoral School of Exact and Natural Sciences announces a competition as part of the Biomedical Sciences study programme for one doctoral student with a scholarship financed from the research project funds.

As part of the Sonata Bis, a commission set up at the School will conduct recruitment for the studying programme of Biomedical Sciences in the academic year 2020/21. The project manager, Dr. Anna Kula-Pacurar offers an opportunity to complete a doctorate in the following area:

“Characterization of the role of MATR3 in HIV latency and reactivation”.

After the interviews and the evaluation of the candidates, the Chairperson of the commission will present to the Director a report containing a list of candidates recommended for admission to the school as part of the research project.

The schedule of the current competition is as follows:

  1. Opening of the competition: 17.09 2020
  2. Application submission deadline: 01.10.2020, 12:00
  3. Entrance exams: 08.10.2020
  4. Announcement of results: 12.10.2020
  5. Enrolment: 13-16.10.2020 (regular list)
                       19-21.10.2020 (reserve list)

Application documents:

  • a curriculum vitae (CV) with particular emphasis on scientific achievements;
  • a motivation letter, explaining how the applicant’s background and research interests make them a suitable candidate for the position
  • a reference letter written for the candidate by a researcher holding at least the academic degree of doktor habilitowany (post-doctoral degree) or being an employee of a foreign higher education institution or research institution who has a substantial track record in scientific issues related to life sciences;
  • the names of the researchers giving references to the candidate (their contact number and academic title)
  • documents demonstrating the scientific achievements listed in the curriculum vitae, e.g. first page of the article
  • transcript of grades: diploma supplement, or the official transcript of grades, or another document listing completed courses and grades. Information about grading scale must be included.

 

Each document issued in a language other than Polish or English shall be accompanied by a certified translation into Polish or English.

Documents required for enrolment:

  1. photocopy and the original for inspection:
  • a diploma certifying the award of a master's degree, master's degree in engineering or an equivalent in a field of study among those indicated in the detailed selection conditions, or
  • a document confirming completion of studies abroad, giving the right to take up studies in the country of its issue in order to obtain the degree of doctor or recognised as equivalent to the relevant Polish diploma confirming graduate qualifications;
  1. a 35 mm × 45 mm photograph without a headgear on a light background;
  2. for inspection: identity card (passport in case of foreigners);
  3. the originals of all other documents provided at the application stage in the form of a scan.

Higher education diplomas obtained abroad should:

  1. bear the apostille clause if the issuing country is covered by the Convention abolishing the requirement of legalisation for foreign public documents, done at The Hague on 5 October 1961. (Journal of Laws of 2005 No. 112, item 938) or
  2. be legalised, in other cases.
