>> PhD Programme in Chemistry <<

The individually developed PhD programme in Chemistry enables gaining of broad knowledge which is the basis for future professional careers, competencies necessary for scientific research, as well as the acquisition and development of didactic and professional skills. The curriculum  primarily consists of scientific research carried out as part of the preparation of a doctoral dissertation, in accordance with an individual research plan prepared by the doctoral student in consultation with the supervisor. Similarly, compulsory and optional courses allow for very flexible selection of the education content.
Compulsory courses dedicated to the PhD programme in Chemistry, developing professional skills include a doctoral seminar, an English language course at C1 level (with option for additional languages at chosen level) and a choice of 3 out of 5 modules: advanced computational and structural techniques; synthetic and analytical; spectroscopic; microscopic; an individually selected course from the offer of the Jagiellonian University and the Faculty Chemistry. PhD student are obliged to attend a seminar at the Doctoral School of the Jagiellonian University, interchangeable with participation in Polish Chemical Society lectures at the Faculty of Chemistry and other seminars offered by Faculty.
Soft skills and general knowledge classes include selected courses (lectures or workshops) to be chosen from a list announced before the beginning of the year. The doctoral student also participates in a workshop course, which enables teaching practices and conducts or co-conducts teaching classes of up to 60 hours per year.
