Competitions announcements

Schedule of the 2023 Edition competition, round I: 

  • announcement of competitions: 28.04

Competitions make it possible to receive financial support for doctoral students and participants of doctoral studies at the Jagiellonian University in the 3 modules:
Visibility&Mobility Module – possibility to finance active participation in prestigious international conferences within the discipline or disciplines in which the doctoral student/participant in doctoral studies is carrying out research.
Attention!
The Doctoral School, in this module, will not finance open access fees.
Financing of research stays, study trips, queries and field research has been assigned to the Research Support Module, for which competitions will be organized at Faculties (not by the Doctoral School). 

Skills Development&Engagement Module - gives the opportunity to finance (within the direct support) the participation in the following initiatives, hereinafter referred to as "training":

  1. participation in trainings aimed at developing methodological skills 
  2. participation in trainings aimed at developing transversal skills;
  3. participation in trainings aimed at developing skills related to non-research activity;
  4. participation in trainings aimed at developing skills related to activity in the social and economic environment;
  5. participation in trainings aimed at developing skills related to promotional and educational activity;
  6. participation in trainings aimed at supporting individual development of skills;
  7. participation in doctoral research schools organized outside the home doctoral school

The results of this round of competitions for the Visibility&Mobility and Skills Development&Engagement modules are planned by the end of June 2023. Therefore, financial support will cover activities starting in mid-July 2023 at the earliest and ending by May 31, 2024. The next round(s), for of these competitions will be announced as funds become available, until they are exhausted. The possible announcement of the next round is planned for October '23.
Excellence Module – possibility of receiving a prize for a publication achievement that was published in 2022. Please note that the competition must be resolved by June 30, 2023 (next rounds in 2023 will not be announced)
Important! 

  • The call for applications be announced in a separate announcement.
  • Submission of applications in all modules only via the system https://strefaid.uj.edu.pl/.
  • Financial support may be provided to persons who, as at the date of submission of the application and its settlement, have the status of a doctoral student. In the case of participants of doctoral studies, the settlement of the activity presented in the application for financial support should take place by September 30, 2023.
  • In the Visibility&Mobility module you can receive financial support only once in a given calendar year in each support category.
  • In the Skills Development&Engagement module, you can receive direct financial support only once in a given edition of the competition, regardless of the type of project applied for. (people who received financial support in 2023 cannot participate in this competition)
  • In the Excellence module, only one prize can be awarded per competition.
  • The condition for participation in this edition of the competitions is the settlement of previous activities financed from ID.UJ competitions (settlement in PI and submission of the report to strefaid.uj.edu.pl).

The Doctoral School of Exact and Natural Sciences announces competitions for doctoral students organized as part of the strategic program Excellence Initiative at the Jagiellonian University ("ID.UJ") – EDITION 2023 – Round 2

Schedule

  • call for applications ends: 25.09 (until midnight) 
  • deadline for supplementing any deficiencies: 27.09 (until midnight) 
  • decisions of the evaluation teams: by 12.10 
  • decision of the Competition Committee: by 18.10 
  • announcement of results on the website: till 19.10 
  • cancellations: until 23.10 (until midnigt) 
  • appeal committee: untill 27.10 

Competitions make it possible to receive financial support in the 2 modules:

Important information:

Some PhD education programmes have already used the funds allocated for 2023. Information about the PhD education programmes entitled to participate in each of the modules will be sent by e-mail.

Competitions make it possible to receive financial support in the Visibility & Mobility Module

  • it gives possibility to finance active participation in prestigious international conferences within the discipline or disciplines in which the doctoral student/participant in doctoral studies is carrying out research.

Information for winners

Due to the end of cooperation with an external company, the procedure for purchasing tickets for foreign trips has changed. Please read the new instructions!

PhD students who obtained funding under IDUJ competitions are required to fulfil the information and promotion obligation in the scope of activities carried out under the IDUJ program.

The rules for labelling the results of scientific work, achievements, research results and the purchase of research equipment and apparatus are included in the Announcement of the Chairman of the Implementation of the Strategic Program ID.UJ of September 5, 2022.
