Admission to the education programme Earth and Environmental Sciences
in the Doctoral School of Exact and Natural Sciences
language of education: Polish
The PhD programme in Earth and Environmental Sciences includes training in:
- Physical geography (hydrology, geomorphology, climatology, soil sciences as well as GIS) and wide range of
- Geological sciences.
Recruitment takes place separately for physical geography and geological sciences; admission limits are separate and separate ranking lists are drawn up.
Recruitment is based on an interview, during which the Candidate's scientific interests, substantive knowledge of the subject matter of the planned research and motivation to study at the Doctoral School are discussed.
Our programme is based on individual scientific cooperation with selected supervisor (or supervisors). That is why we place great emphasis on the earlier selection and the earliest possible initiation of scientific cooperation between the Candidates and one of the professors of our university.
The topics of doctoral dissertations include both field issues – in physical geography and geology – as well as works based on the use of data obtained from various sources. We have the appropriate equipment for field work as well as good laboratory and computer facilities. Doctoral students may apply for additional funds to cover the costs of their research, but also trips and exchanges with other academic centers in Poland and around the world.
