Short biogram:
I received my MSc degree in computer science from the Jagiellonian University in 1993, PhD degree in Computer Science from the Institute of Fundamental Technological Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IPPT PAN) in Warsaw in 2002 and DSc in Computer Science from AGH in 2014. From 1993 to 2006, I worked at the Faculty of Mathematics; Physics and Computer Science of the Jagiellonian University as an Assistant and since 2005 as an Assistant Professor. From 2006 I have been working at the Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Computer Science (FAIS) of the Jagiellonian University, and since 2019 I have been working as a university professor.
My research interest include computer aided design, knowledge representation, graph based representation and graph transformations, graph mining and graph kernels. I am an author or co-author of over 90 papers and I have attended numerous conferences in computer science and related areas.
I was the Dean representative for the development of Computer Science Programme from 2016 to 2020 and since 2016 I am also the representative of the Dean for the Evaluation and the Quality of Education.
Main scientific interests:
My main scientific interest include
- computer aided design systems, mainly in architectural design
- reasoning from data in design problems
- machine learning for structured data,
- graph-based learning,
- graph mining,
- knowledge representation,
- applications of ML in computer aided design and engineering
- evolutionary and bio-inspired methods in solving desgn problems.
