Short biogram:

I received my MSc degree in computer science at the Jagiellonian University in 1988, the PhD degree in computer science from the Institute of Fundamental Technological Research Polish Academy of Science in 1999 and the DSc (habilitation) in computer science from the Department of Automatic Control, Electronics and Computer Science of Silesian University of Technology in 2012. In the years 1988-2006, I worked at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the Jagiellonian University as an Assistant and since 2003 as an Assistant Professor. In the years 2006 – 2019, I worked as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Computer Science (FAIS) of the Jagiellonian University, and since 2019 I have been working as a university professor.

Since 2017, I have been the head of the FAIS Design and Computer Graphics Department. Since 2020, I have been the Deputy Director of the FAIS Institute of Applied Computer Science. From 2018, I am also the representative of the Dean of FAIS for the Evaluation of the Quality of Education.

My scientific achievements in the field of technical sciences in the discipline of technical computer science and telecommunications include the authorship or co-authorship of 16 articles in scientific journals of the Journal Citation Reports list, 51 articles in other peer-reviewed scientific journals, one scientific monograph, 11 chapters in peer-reviewed scientific monographs, 23 publications in reviewed materials from international conferences. I participated in three research grants financed by the KBN, reviewed many articles for journals and international scientific conferences. I also took an active part in over 50 international scientific conferences.

interactive computer-aided architectural and engineering design systems
conceptualization of design knowledge and visual languages in design decision-making problems
graph methods of representation and processing of design knowledge
evolutionary methods of generating design solutions
supporting constructive perception and creative conceptual design with the use of intelligent agents
design inference mechanisms using logical languages, fuzzy classification and graph exploration methods
semantic enrichment of the BIM model for design and engineering tasks (extracting data from IFC files, finding paths in buildings for disabled people, monitoring and maintaining buildings, navigating mobile robots)
