Expert in the field of Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) technology with many years of experience acquired while working on international research projects. Ph.D. in technical sciences in the discipline of computer science obtained for the design and implementation of the data acquisition system for the HADES experiment detector system, which has also been used in dozens of other applications. Since 2021 technical coordinator for the data acquisition and processing system for the PANDA experiment at FAIR research facility. Popularizer of the FPGA technology by organizing conferences and training programs in this field on a national scale. Since 2018 conducts research on the use of FPGAs in issues related to Artificial Intelligence and High Performance Computing.

Scientific interest:

  • Real-time data processing on FPGAs
  • Data acquisition systems in large scale physics experiments
  • High Performance Computing
  • Heterogenous Computing
  • Computer architectures

Related research projects:

PANDA experiment
Large scale physics experiment PANDA comprises multiple detector subsystems constructed to record physics phenomena. Millions of analog data channels require elaborated data acquisition and processing system. We are working on almost all aspects of the system, which covers electronics, firmware development, networking, high performance computing architectures and software frameworks.

J-PET tomography scanner
J-PET is a unique PET scanner based on plastic scintillators, entirely developed and constructed at Jagiellonian University. We are working on mechanisms of the tomographic image reconstruction in real-time on FPGA devices, which are part of the data acquisition system.

Novel applications
Our research interest covers wide range of applications of the FPGA technology in computing. From accelerating theoretical physics simulations, data compression algorithms, 100Gb Ethernet to experiments with neural networks inference.
