Music and mathematics have many well known connections from ancient times. Recently this interplay became even more close, sometimes surprisingly intimate. Modern composers more and more often reach for mathematical structures getting impressive musical effects. I will present several such phenomenons in contemporary music, mentioning on this occasion some deep mathematical problems.
