Brief description of the project
The entrepreneur implements a project called: “A technology platform designed for the development and research of therapeutic compounds for cancer immunotherapy. Development of small molecule inhibitors targeting immunoreceptors of the immune system control point in combined treatment".

Project goals:

  • The first goal of research and development works is to build a novel service platform made of a broad portfolio of recombinant immune system control point receptors. The development of the platform is crucial for the rapid selection and testing of new types of inhibitors for immunoreceptors such as PD1, PD-L1, VISTA, CTLA-4.
  • The second goal of the project, based on the developed immunoreceptor platform, is the development of small molecule and biological inhibitors targeting the immune control point receptors in monotherapy and combined treatment.

To achieve the above-mentioned goals of the project, cooperation between specialists in the field of biotechnology and chemistry is necessary. The combination of these two scientific disciplines and the creation of an interdisciplinary team will allow for the in-depth use of knowledge and infrastructure to find candidates for therapeutic particles in the cancer treatment. The implementation of two doctoral theses based on the "Implementation Doctorate Programme" will provide the entrepreneur with: immunoreceptors, including a receptor without glycosylation intended for crystallization, a set of small particle inhibitors, peptides and bispecific antibodies for selected immunoreceptors, high-throughput methods HTRF, FP, DSF for screening protein-inhibitor interactions, cell models to study the activity of compounds in the cellular environment, and will help to understand the molecular mechanisms of immunoreceptor-inhibitor interactions based on structural research. In addition to the developed methods, the results of structural research of the interactions will facilitate the entrepreneur designing inhibitors using in silico in relation to other immunoreceptors for which the entrepreneur’s research is conducted.

Therefore, doctoral dissertations under the titles: "Synthesis of small molecule inhibitors of immune control points and inhibitors showing a synergistic effect on the immune system". "Development and characterization of recombinant control point receptors of the immune system. Research on the molecular mechanisms of receptor-inhibitor interactions” fits particularly well into the subject of the company's work and will provide numerous solutions for the implementation of project milestones and the company's development.
